2011 Kelsey Theatre Awards
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play Winner

On the evening of August 13, 2011 at the Kelsey Theatre in West Windsor NJ I was honored to accept the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play. This was for my role as Lt. jg Daniel Kaffee in Aaron Sorkin’s A FEW GOOD MEN.

I was quite surprised to hear my name called, the competition was thick with talented actors in very impressive roles. For me, Lt. Kaffee was a bucket list role and I am thrilled to have been recognized for my performance.

At the awards ceremony, all winners were held to a strict ten word acceptance speech limit. So I’ll use this forum to express my gratitude in a more expansive manner.

Thanks to: Mauer Productions OnStage a group I am always proud to work with, having also appeared in their premiere production THE FOREIGNER. Our director Alycia Bauch-Cantor who was clearly instrumental in this production’s success. Jeff Cantor our tireless stage manager and our military adviser “Captain” Jack Petzko.

The entire cast and crew of A FEW GOOD MEN. Especially Joe Zedney as Lt. jg Weinberg, who was also nominated in my same category. Faith Dowgin as Cmdr. Joanne Galloway, who was similarly honored, taking the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play award. Most of this cast were people I have never worked with previously, they were very talented, professional and a pleasure to work with.

Thanks also to Kelsey Theatre, where I have long standing ties and countless memories. Kitty Getlik and the entire Kelsey staff are to be praised for their hard work and dedication to putting up the very best theatre possible. A special thanks to Kyrus Keenan Westcott, the Kelsey Awards are his brainchild and he produced a hell of a ceremony to the delight of an appreciative crowd.

Thanks of course to all those who support Kelsey throughout the season and all those who voted in the awards. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

Finally to my wife and children–I love you more than anything.

Thanks again for this honor!
