Mark Violi’s city-styled comedy feature PREGNANT PAUSE has reached the Top 20% in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Proud to announce my comedy feature screenplay, PREGNANT PAUSE, has reached the Top 20% of the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences,  the Nicholl Fellowship is considered the pinnacle of screenwriting competitions.

A romantic comedy within a comedy, PREGNANT PAUSE is a city-styled, lower-budget feature film script with a power-fem hero delivering lively characters and big laughs.

The log line reads: Rebecca is a hard-boiled career woman focused solely on making partner at her firm. But when she’s confronted by an unplanned pregnancy and begins falling for the baby’s father, she fears she’ll have to choose between her career and the family life she never expected—unless this city girl really can have it all.

The Top 20% were chosen from a field of over 7500 feature film script submissions.

This is the second recent accolade for PREGNANT PAUSE, having finished in the Top 10% of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition earlier in the year.
