I’m amazed at the level of entitlement some people have. I don’t think your wish to be respected for what you have to offer (your time and expertise … and for free at that!) is unreasonable. It’s just common sense when you’re begging a favour. That people can be so darn rude is always shocking to me, although I ought to know better considering the world we live in.
